Tree Surgery Oxford

Today we were removing a large Fir from the bottom of a long garden, with lots of cars parked on the street, with lots of pedestrians and a longer drag than we had hoped.  But we boomed it and the owners were delighted with the extra light and space

Firs

True Firs are amongst Britain’s largest trees.  There are several types of tree that come under this heading, including fir, true cedar, larch, spice, pine, Douglas-fir and hemlock

’A Fir, for the first half-dozen years, seems to stand, or at least makes no considerable advance, but it is when thoroughly rooted, that it comes away miraculously”

The Job In Hand

This couple had just brought the house a year ago.  This mature fir must have been appropriate at one point in time but now it clearly wasn’t.  Not only were the owners missing out on lots of light and space, their neighbours were as well.

The technical Tree Surgery part was not that difficult as there was lots of space.  The drag and parking were the tiring parts here and moving the whole tree to the front and away.

Day 1 was getting the tree on the ground, doing all the chipping and logging up

Day 2 was grinding the stump, clearing the wood and clearing up
