Tree Work Oxford
Today we were doing tree work in Oxford. This involved taking down a 60ft conifer in a back garden.

Why did this work need doing in Oxford?
Firstly this tree was over 60ft tall was bordering a boundary. The taller something is, the more effective the lever is in it coming down. The shorter something is, the more stable it is.
Secondly, this tree grew with a real lean, thankfully into the garden. However this lean made it potentially dangerous to fail. The owner had grand children & therfore obviously wanted to make it as safe as possible. This tree work in Oxford had to be done.
Thirdly, this property was very close to the river & therefore the root system wasn’t as stable as if the tree had been on higher & dryer ground.

Firstly, conifers are amongst the oldest trees to exist on this planet, they have survived 3 ice ages & been amongst a quarter of things to survive.
Secondly, they constitute probably 60% of the tree work we do in Oxford.
